Description

The mural combines two contrasting styles: the contemporary elements are represented in a simple, geometric way, in greens, yellows, and blues — mountains, water, snow, and bicycles; the elements of the past, by contrast, appear in much greater detail and realism, in whites, blacks, turquoise, purple, pink, orange, and reddish tones: the station, the train, and the tunnel.
Ullibarri-Jauregi had its own station on the Basque-Navarrese Railway, now gone, but the old tracks have become a Vía Verde — a green cycling route. The mural captures this double life of the place.
As a final playful touch, the mural hides two elements in the manner of a game: a farmer playing the accordion and a tractor. Can you find them?
This mural, like the rest of those in the municipality of San Millán, was sponsored by its Town Hall.
